Well what a weird cold weekend, so let’s look at whatever we can from it, OK?
Recaps of D.C. United’s 3-2 loss to NYCFC from us and WaPo. Hudson River Blue with the other end of it.
Mateusz Klich breaks silence on Jesse Marsch anger and reveals unfinished business at Leeds United (Yorkshire Evening Post): Seems like a good guy!
Reviewing Loudoun United’s 1-1 draw with San Antonio FC (me): So this may be a decent team now? This plops later this morning. And if you don’t want to read that, here’s whatever takeaway you want to give to it as a D.C. United fan:
AVSLÖJAR: Häcken värvar stjärnan (Fotbol Direct): Former D.C. forward Ola Kamara may wind up at BK Hacken (where D.C. was apparently interested in Ibrahim Sadiq at one point) soon?
And I didn’t have that much to look at afterwards but you’re telling me Martin Scorsese directed a documentary about Buster Poindexter/David Johansen and well I will watch that:
Jeff Carlisle is reporting that Bill Hamid has signed with Memphis 901. Tim Howard is in charge down there, and has always been a mentor to Bill, so that makes some sense. Yo Gotti is from Memphis too, but I’m not sure if that played much of a role.
It’s good that Bill has a team, and would presumably be a starter. I do fear that no matter how well he does, it will be difficult for a keeper of his age to make it back up to MLS or abroad, but for the moment, Bill’s biggest hurdle is getting into game shape and getting minutes. So, best of luck to him!
First, nice picture of TKDP–credit to the photographer.
Second, nice news about Bill Hamid.
Third, cool about Rooney coaching the All-Stars against Arsenal.
And finally, I know it’s not DCU but a small round of applause for Benny winning his first game with Houston and winning it in style. He’s a good man manager and it doesn’t suprise me that he’s got Herrera playing in a higher gear.
Hernan Losada got his first win with Montreal as well, this one over Philly.
Iirc he’s been at the helm for our only win against Philly in a long time. Is that right?
While we’re doing this… Junior Moreno played 101 MLS games for DC United before he got his first and only league goal for DCU. He just scored his 2nd brace in 2 years with FC Cincinnati — with an absolute golazo for the 2nd goal, which would have been his 3rd goal of the game, but for an earlier goal being wiped away by a VAR decision.
He always sat so far back under Olsen, but had some decent range on his passing. Glad he’s putting up some stats!
O’Brien signed.
Loan until July with an option to buy. I’m positive that has to be a DP-worthy figure. Hopefully Rooney and Co. are on the trail for finding a more permanent replacement. Still like the move.
That is if Forest is still up in the PL and not been relegated. If they get relegated we might get a deal.
