MLS Fantasy Focus: Three-headed Monster

Autoroo led the scoring this round with 110 points, while Nouhou Big Summer Blowout‘s lead at the top keeps growing, now standing at 133 points. Summer blowout, indeed.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers
The clean sheet trio of CJ Dos Santos (SD, $8.5), Kristijan Kahlina (CLT, $8.8), and Matt Freese (NY, $8.0) tied atop the goalkeeper lead with 8 points. For DCU, Luis Barazza ($5.3) scored 2 points.

Defenders
Philadelphia’s Kai Wagner ($12.3) tallied a clean sheet, a goal, and an assist on the way to 19 points, leading the defenders and earning a share of the three-way split of the overall lead. Behind him were LA Galaxy teammates Miki Yamane ($6.1), with a clean sheet, two assists, and 15 points, and Harbor Miller ($4.7), with 14 points on a goal and a clean sheet. The United defense featured Matti Peltola ($4.0) with 5 points, Lucas Bartlett ($4.7) with 4, both Kye Rowles ($5.3) and David Schnegg ($4.2) with 3, Conner Antley ($4.2) with 2, and Aaron Herrera ($4.8) with 1.

Midfielders
Hany Mukhtar (NSH, $16.0) added an assist to his brace on the way to 19 points, leading the midfielders and joining Wagner in the scoring lead. Well behind him were Myrto Uzuni (ATX, $8.5), who scored 12 points on a goal and an assist, and Robin Lod (MIN, $7.4), who did the same for 11 points. D.C.’s midfield was led by Jackson Hopkins ($4.1) with 8 points; followed by the trio of Gabriel Pirani ($8.3), Hosei Kijima ($4.0), and Brandon Servania ($4.5) with 2; and another trio of Joao Peglow ($7.6), Jared Stroud ($4.0), and Rida Zouhir ($4.0) with 1.

Forwards
Seattle’s Danny Musovski ($9.7) scored a hat trick on the way to 19 points, leading the forwards and completing the 19-point trio, while Son Heung-min (LA, $12.0) scored his first MLS goal and added 6 attacking bonus points on the way to 15 points. Sam Surridge (NSH, $13.2) rounded out the top three with two goals and 13 points. The nominal scorers for DCU were Jacob Murrell ($4.0) and Dominique Badji ($4.0) with 1 point each.

Looking Ahead
This round Vancouver, RSL, Orlando, Seattle, Dallas, Miami, the Galaxy, and Chicago are all on bye as Leagues Cup action resumes. Everyone else plays once. Joe Willis (NSH, $9.1) looks good in goal vs. Atlanta, and Adilson Malanda (CLT, $9.9) is riding a streak of four consecutive clean sheets, so start him in defense at New England. I like Jack McGlynn (HOU, $13.8) in midfield at St. Louis, and Son Heung-min at forward vs. San Diego.
