DC Power FC had an extra week to prepare thanks to Hurricane Isaias, but they have a pivotal match tonight when they hit the road to Charlotte to face Carolina Ascent in a battle between the top two teams in the USL Super League.

It has been 25 days since DC Power last saw competitive action. Their match against Sporting Jacksonville last weekend was postponed due to Hurricane Isaias making landfall in Florida, so the club has been working an extra week to take on the top team in the league. Carolina Ascent has just one loss this season and have four wins and a draw in their last five matches, including a 3-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Sun last weekend. They enter with an eight point lead in the standings over DC and Jacksonville, so Carolina have some cushion even with DC and Jacksonville having a game in hand.

For DC Power, having an extra week off hopefully gave them time to work on some of the things they wanted to improve for the second half of the season, like consistent goal production and creating more scoring opportunities. They also want to beat the top team in the league to continue to show that DC Power should be considered a team to beat the rest of the way. They will get that opportunity this evening to once again be road warriors and come home with three points.
