DC United vs. Columbus Crew: Preview, time, and how to watch
DC United are back on the field with what is expected to be a clear evening at Audi field tonight to take on the Columbus Crew. DC did not get to play last weekend in Cincinnati, as weather caused that match to be postponed.
They take on a Columbus team that is reeling, having lost their last 4 matches. Both teams are staring up at the playoff line, as the Black-and-Red are on 25 points and Columbus is just behind them on 23 points. With the postponed match, they have some extra days rest as they try to climb back into the playoff chase.
The Black-and-Red have struggled mightily against the Crew the past 5 years. DC United’s last win over Columbus was a 4-2 win back in August 2021. Since then, they are 0W-6L-3D against the Crew. Both matches last season were 2-1 Columbus wins.
For DC United to flip the script, they will need to find some goals. The hope is that Tai Baribo, who was listed as questionable for the match against Cincinnati and was set to start the match on the bench, will be ready tonight. He has 12 goals this season, and his production would be a terrific boost for the Black-and-Red. They also need to remain clean on the defensive end to stop Diego Rossi and some of the other attackers who Columbus has relied upon for goal production. The stakes have made this match pretty important as we enter the final third of the season.

Quick heads up, they don’t need to worry about Rossi – Columbus sent him to Monterrey in LigaMX. They did bring back to MLS Santi Rodriguez, though, who I fear might well find some spaces against us.
No one is suspended, but Peglow is one yellow away from an accumulation suspension.
