DC United is off from league play this week, but they will take the field tonight for an exhibition. They will face Loudoun United in the first ever DMV Derby at Audi Field.

The two teams have been wholly linked since Loudoun United first hit the field in 2019. Started as DC United’s second team, it’s now mostly independent with new ownership (though DC United retains some connection to the team). Because of the relationship, this is the first time the two teams have faced each other on the field.

There have been several teams who have played for both Loudoun United and DC United, and many could see action tonight. Currently, DC United 2026 1st round MLS Superdraft pick Richie Aman is on loan with Loudoun United, and Jordan Farr is as well (though he has not moved over due to recovery from injury). Aman is in the top 10 in the USL Championship with 4 assists so far this season. Gavin Turner has spent time on loan with Loudoun in the past, and Jackson Hopkins played with Loudoun before signing with DC United as a Homegrown Player. On the other side, former DC United midfielder Pedro Santos now plays for Loudoun United.

In addition to Santos returning to Audi Field, fans can see some of the other players that call Segra Field home. Abdellatif Aboukoura is one of the great young players in the USL Championship, winning the 2025 USL Championship Young Player of the Year. With eight goals, Thorleifur Úlfarsson is among the USL Championship leaders this season.

It will be interesting to see how DC United approaches the friendly as they seek to get some players minutes while they have a bit of a break from MLS action. For those at Audi Field, it will hopefully be a good friendly with plenty of action.
