DC Power FC vs. Dallas Trinity: Preview, time, and how to watch

DC Power FC put their five match unbeaten streak on the line this evening as they take on Dallas Trinity in their spring home opener at Audi Field. DC Power is coming off a 2-0 road win last weekend against Brooklyn FC, and they’re fully confident that they can add to their win total in front of the home fans.

DC Power is currently sitting in fifth place in the Gainbridge Super League standings, just one point underneath the playoff line with games in hand. They go up against a Dallas team that sits just 5 points ahead of them in 3rd place.

Dallas Trinity is coming off a 1-0 road win against Lexington SC where the winning goal came from Washington Spirit loanee Heather Stainbrook. Stainbrook will make her return to Audi Field for the first time since heading to Dallas on loan. Former Spirit player Amber Wisner (née Brooks) also returns to Audi Field as the captain of Dallas Trinity.

Sara Wojdelko, another person on loan from the Spirit, got her first start in goal for DC Power last weekend and got the clean sheet. With normal starter Morgan Aquino back from international duty, it’s unclear who will get the start in goal tonight. Head coach Omid Namazi said last week it would depend on “a number of factors,” including Aquino’s recovery from the lengthy international travel.

The offense is starting to heat up for DC Power, with Alyssa Walker and Loza Abera scoring last week and Gianna Gourley among the league leaders in goals. They hope that a return to consistent matches means that they can continue to build a rhythm as they search for their second win of the spring season.
