USWNT vs Portugal, October 2025 Friendly: Preview, Time, and How to Watch
After a slightly disastrous match on Thursday, the US Women’s National Team have the chance to face Portugal a second time this afternoon, hopefully with better results.
On Thursday night, Rose Lavelle scored in the first minute of the match, but her goal was not the good omen it seemed. The U.S. struggled to create quality chances afterward and allowed goals by Diana Gomes and Fatima Pinto off of set pieces. They’ll need to make some serious changes today to avoid another embarrassing performance, and it’s not clear that the addition of fullback Eva Gaetino — called up from the U-23 roster to replace Trinity Rodman — will be what they need to improve connections on the attack.
This match continues the retirement series: longtime goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher will be honored. Naeher announced her retirement from international soccer late last year but still plays for Chicago Stars FC.

It doesn’t appear Tara made the bench today.
Wow. 45 seconds in and Moultrie gives the US the lead.
Wow, that was quick. Portugal answers quickly. 1-1
5 minutes later Shaw to Moultrie to make it 2-1. Seems likes it’s going to be a high scoring affair.
2-1 US at the half. A back and forth first 10 settled down for the next 35. Both teams had opportunities.
Coffey buries it to make it 3-1.
I’m very impressed with Yohannes. Most of her passes are exquisite cross field, over the top and in traffic. She’ll be our primary #10 while Heaps may not even make the World Cup squad.
