USMNT vs Australia, October 2025 Friendly: Preview, Time, and How to Watch

The United States Men’s National Team close out the October international window tonight as they face Australia tonight in Denver. The USMNT hope to end the window with a win against a tough Socceroos team.

For DC United fans, it’s a potential chance to see defender Kye Rowles once again. He got the start for Australia on Friday night against Canada, subbing off after 57 minutes. Australia eventually beat Canada 1-0 in that match in Montreal.

The USMNT still have some health issues with some of their players, but it appears that Christian Pulisic will factor more into this match after being a late substitute in the draw against Ecuador on Friday night. It’s unknown whether Antonee Robinson and Alex Zendejas – who were both unavailable due to injuries on Friday – will dress this evening.

This is the first time the USMNT and Australia have played each other since a June 2010 friendly in South Africa that was a warmup match for the World Cup. The USMNT hope to pass this next test in their slate of opponents that have qualified for the 2026 World Cup and continue the overall improvement of play on the field.

Twenty minutes in and seems like there are a lot of open seats along the sideline.

US responds well after Pulisic is forced off. Nice goal by Wright.

The Australians are flying in with some bullshit tackles. Ref pretty committed to seeing US players eat it.

That game hit half at the right time. Not sure the ref would’ve maintained control if it went longer.

I doubt this ref will have control in the 2nd half. He looks out of his depth.

Likely. I’m just hoping the break lowers the temperature a little.

Rugby looks better than soccer at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. It played host to the 5th place game and Semifinal matches of the Pacific Nations Cup last month. Apparently the US Men’s Eagles didn’t leave enough good juju in the stadium for the USMNT.

I will say, I did not have Roldan assisting Wright for a goal with less than a year to go before the World Cup go time on my bingo card

Wow. I guess we finally have competition for striker.

This has been true of a lot of this game, but certainly at this point, this game feels closer to plinko with the ball rattling randomly through traffic than a soccer game by two WC teams.

US doing a bit better now as Australia start gambling for an equalizer

Wright-Roldan 2-1 Australia.

Seems like the formation is closer to a 5-2-3 than a traditional 3-4-3, but it’s getting us forward better than we have been. Let’s hope the players continue to build confidence. Also, stay fucking healthy down the stretch!

Well, with Rowles not featuring in this match and a comparatively short flight back east, he should be fresh for the finale of the Klich Cup on Decision Day.
