The English pro football system will collapse. Rather than punishing teams who hit financial problems, they need to learn the lessons of the old NASL and figure out how to not let one owner who has infinite resources destabilize their league.

They won’t do it. If they were going to do it, they would have already done so. So collapse it is.

It is remarkable how teams are being docked points (yes, we need rules, Rangers were exhibit A, gotta pay taxes lads…) and brazen oil money reigns supreme.

“Gritty autobody shops….”
Well, gotta put those scum bags down so we can have a soccer field. I love New York.

Wow. This seems…clueless? Nats Park and Audi Field were built over a neighborhood of salt silos, concrete mixing plant, liquor stores, and a whole bunch of gritty auto body shops.

I’m sure the auto body shops won’t go away completely, but the city wouldn’t miss all its chop shops, if they went away completely. that would mean a lot fewer cars being broken into and stolen.

Hardly clueless, the word “gritty” is a bit high-handed. I am aware of the land at Buzzard point prior to the stadium, it was a bit stressed and under utilized. Please see Tales from Buzzard Point if you doubt me.

See you at the game :^)

Haven’t seen it pop up anywhere else yet, but Goff reported on Bluesky that Ted is questionable this weekend with an adductor strain. I’m assuming that is from the contact and quick sub that followed in the last game

Yeah, I just heard him mention that, watching the press conference with Troy Lesesne. Also, is Goff just only on Bluesky these days? It strikes me that I haven’t seen him much on Twitter recently. (Can’t blame him if that’s the case.)

I think I have seen him on twitter too

Update: He hasn’t posted there since mid-March. I guess I was just seeing Ella Brockway share his articles!

Agreed, it seems he’s focusing mostly on Bluesky (and I think he’s mentioned posting on Threads before, but I don’t have that yet so I can’t confirm). There hasn’t been a ton of migration over to Bluesky yet, at least as far as the things I follow go, so I only check it maybe a couple times a week just because there isnt much there. Like DC and MLS dont even have accounts on it yet as far as I can tell
