These were meant to go out this morning, but I was in Atlanta for the U.S. Soccer National Training Center event last night and got sidetracked this morning trying to get back to our lovely District. New York Red Bulls name Sandro Schwarz head coach (MLS)
New York Red Bulls have a new coach, and his name is Sandro Schwarz. Gotta hate him now.
Messi’s 2022 WC Argentina shirts sell for $7.8m at auction (ESPN)
Lionel Messi’s World Cup jerseys were auctioned off and raised $7.8 million. My hope is that my Messi jersey can get a fraction of that.

Whoa, do we almost have a Washington Spirit coach? Sounds like an “astronomical offer” might have been placed on the table…was it from the Spirit?!
Turkish club president given life ban for punching referee (ESPN)
The club president from Turkey who threw hands at a referee after a match last week is banned from the game for life. The club also got a fine and has to play its next 5 home matches behind closed doors.
