Happy Thursday, everyone! I am in Austin for the USMNT’s first leg of the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals. It’s the greatest tournament in the world to me, so tune in and watch this evening! Before then, here’s the news from yesterday…
Alex Loera becomes the first player in Bay FC history, as the club acquired her via trade from the KC Current. And, it sounds like Loera wasn’t totally expecting that trade to happen:
Utah Royals FC Acquires Kaysville’s Own Mikayla Cluff From Orlando Pride (Utah Royals)
Mikayla Cluff will head to the Utah Royals to become their first signee, with the Pride receiving expansion draft protection. Couple that with the deal they made with Bay FC, the Orlando Pride will not lose any of its players in the expansion draft next month.

We preview the USMNT match and what we should be looking for this evening. Let’s hope our favorite Kevin Paredes gets the start!

Emma Hayes: Why Chelsea boss is perfect fit for the US national women’s team (BBC)
The BBC examines why Emma Hayes may be the coach the USWNT needs to get back to the top of the table.
Enjoy the day, go go USA!
Gallardo left River last year and had supposedly been waiting for the right club in Europe for his next opportunity. I guess the right club in Europe was actually in Saudi Arabia when the money was right.
How could he resist the enticing prospect of coaching in front of literally tens of fans?
This is why DCU needs to shoot their shot.
Will indeed be fascinating to see if Parades has earned the start in training. Think it would be wise to keep Reyna at CAM and sub in Tillman at the same position when his legs start to go, if that’s the plan, I don’t see Zendejas or Paxten beating him to the spot.
The importance of this home game cannot be overstated, we NEED to make Copa America, and need to take this away from T&T before going to their house.
Drew Skundrich just signed with Loudoun United. I’m glad he and Andi Sullivan get to be close together again. Loudoun doesn’t have the same relationship with DC United since he left, but if he ever did play for DC again, he’d have the chance claim the fourth most games played in club history without ever scoring a goal. Currently he and David Vaudreuil are both tied at 39 games played. (Or, more positively, he could score a goal and remove his name from the list!) He’d have a long way to go to catch third place Joseph Mora, though, who sits at 97 games played with no goals scored.
