McLean McUnited led the league this round, putting up 163 points. Meanwhile, BL4CKnRED lengthened their overall lead just slightly to 76 points, making it all but certain that they’ll win the league.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers
Charlotte’s Kristijan Kahlina ($7.3) kept two clean sheets on the way to 19 points, ahead of Yohei Takaoka (VAN, $6.1), who did the same for 17 points. DCU’s Alex Bono ($7.7) rounded out the top three with a clean sheet and 12 points.

Defenders
Vancouver teammates Ranko Veselinovic ($8.8), with 23 points on two clean sheets and an assist, and Richie Laryea ($9.1), with 22 on two clean sheeets and a goal, set the pace for the defenders. Adilson Malanda (CLT, $8.5) came in third with two clean sheets and 20 points. DCU’s defense was led by Eric Davis ($7.6) with 11 points, followed by Andy Najar ($5.7) with 9, Matai Akinmboni ($4.8) with 8, Derrick Williams ($5.4) with 4, Ruan ($7.1) with 3, Steven Birnbaum ($6.9) with 2, and both Pedro Santos ($7.2) and Hayden Sargis ($4.0) with 1.

Midfielders
The Red Bulls’ Luqinhas ($7.3) led the midfielders with two goals, two assists, and 23 points. Trailing him was the 20-point pair of Carles Gil ($14.5), with two goals and an assist, and Mathieu Choiniere (MTL, $8.4), with two goals. For United, Mateusz Klich ($9.9) led with 16 points, followed by Chris Durkin ($6.5) with 12, Russell Canouse ($6.0) with 6, both Ted Ku-Dipietro ($5.6) and Gabriel Pirani ($6.9) with 5, and both Yamil Asad ($4.0) and Jackson Hopkins ($4.0) with 1.

Forwards
Denis Bouanga (LA, $11.9) scored five goals and added an assist over two games to score 42 points, easily leading the forwards and all players. In his wake were Teemu Pukki (MIN, $10.8), who scored 26 points on the strength of four goals, and Karol Swiderski (CLT, $9.4), who tallied three goals and an assist on the way to 24 points. D.C.’s forwards were Christian Benteke ($9.1) and Erik Hurtado ($4.8) with 3 points each.

Looking Ahead
It’s the final round of the 2023 season. D.C. United is on bye, Miami and Charlotte play each other twice, and everyone else plays once. I like Pedro Gallese (ORL, $8.4) in goal @ Toronto, and Rodrigues (SJ, $9.7) in defense vs. Austin. Rodrigues’s teammate, Cristian Espinoza ($12.6) looks similarly good in midfield, and there’s no way I’m taking out Denis Bouanga @ Vancouver.
