Happy Fourth of July!
MLS isn’t stopping for anything, least of all a holiday, so we won’t either. D.C. United will take on FC Dallas at 8:30 pm ET. We’ll have a preview up for you a bit later today.
Tonight’s official watch party is at O’Connell’s in Old Town (one of my favorite places), so if you don’t already have plans to get potentially rained on while trying to catch some fireworks – this is a great option.
MLS Player of the Matchday was none other than Nashville’s Randall Leal. He put in a great performance, but, yes, this still stings a bit.
The latest installment of El Tráfico at the Rose Bowl is expected to be a sellout and set a new record for all-time high MLS attendance. The current record holding match is LA Galaxy vs. Charlotte FC on March 5, 2022 with 74,479 fans in attendance at Bank of America Stadium.
Steph Yang and Sarah Shephard at The Athletic dive into allegations against Vera Pauw from her time at Houston Dash ahead of the World Cup.
Loudoun United’s admin deserves a round of applause for this tweet. The parents of the DMV feel seen and we thank you. IYKYK.
Alright, that’s it from me for the moment! Catch you all in a bit with some match day content.
When Loudoun United v Hartford resumed after weather delay, we won 2-1. Let’s hope that’s a good augury for tonight in Dallas.
Both DC and Dallas will be without their best strikers so should be quite the matchup
Very curious to see how Rooney lines us up. Does he do a like-for-like swap and try Hurtado as the target man? Do we see a new forward arrangement or formation change to adjust for his absence? Where does Miller kick the ball?
Yea I was thinking he’d just throw hurtado on. In his short time with DC, Rooney has been the most dynamic with formations/personnel. I’m sure tonight he’ll prove me wrong, since I just said that.

We’ll scoop him in a wacko MLS fashion.
Oh as I wrote and rescind, I had the news backwards on this one. Duh.
