Happy Friday! Let’s chat about soccer!

DC Academy players Ignacio Alem and Graham Jones and Director Pat Ouckama have been named to the MLS Next All-Star game, to be played on July 19 at 10 a.m. in Annapolis, MD.

These Sep. 9 and 12 matches in St. Louis, MO, and St. Paul MN, will be the first after the return of Gregg Berhalter.

Finally, in case you missed it, the entire U.S. women’s soccer community is obsessed with anti-cramping drink HOTSHOT right now, after NWSL rookies Michelle Cooper and Alyssa Thompson were spectacularly disgusted by it on the field last weekend. An outstanding week for DP staff with breakfast hour Freedom Kicks every day. Many thanks.

I think I’ll be taking a pass on “Hot Shot.” Clever concept but…nah. I’ll just avoid intense workouts in the heat as a way of preventing muscle cramps.
