Happy Tuesday, friends!
First and foremost, today, we are sending our love to all those impacted by the violence in Nashville, TN. Our hearts are with all of those who lost loved ones and the greater Nashville community. Please consider a donation to Everytown or another organization dedicated to curbing gun violence and supporting survivors.
Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein told NPR that soccer is cathartic and akin to therapy for those who won’t go. We detect no lies (but also strongly support therapy and prioritizing mental health).
We’re pleased to share we have a new partnership with the MLS Store. Thank you for purchasing through our affiliate links and supporting local, independent soccer media!
Steve Kaplan, Jason Levien, and Jake Silverstein are looking to expand investment in Swansea City. The club stopped receiving parachute payments after relegation from the Premier League about five years ago and is looking to make any debt sustainable by attracting new investment.

First, it’s very good of you to acknowledge what happened to Nashville and to extend care and thoughts to anyone who is touched by those events.
Second, the Roy Kent/Brett Goldstein comments are sad but true.
Third, Goff notes that Julie Ertz has been called up to the USWNT. I respect Ertz like crazy. I’m not sure it solves the issues the team is facing tactically.
It feels like any thoughts devoted to a singular school shooting at this point get lost, as that Blade Runner character would say, “like tears in rain.” I’m not willing to say this is a tragedy when it’s a long running and escalating crisis. Vote on it mercilessly.
Feels callous to talk about soccer today, but, soccer blog, and don’t know where else to encapsulate this thought: USMNT should stop calling up Dike. He’s dreadful against anyone but sloppy defenders. I’ve even devoted some time in the past to watching the “every touch videos” on the games that he’s scored, and it’s like watching touches get sent to the slaughterhouse, along with him smashing in goals occasionally while falling down against wretched defenses. Don’t want to see him again, Pepi and Sargent and Balogun, if possible, please.
Other than that, don’t think Zendejas, Reyna, and Pulisic complemented each other very well, perhaps because they’re all too similar. We need depth for Adams, McKennie is a vibes shuttler, and will not stay back. Antonee Robinson might actually be in danger of losing his spot to Scally, was actually shocked that didn’t happen at some point. Miles Robinson is dope. Pulisic had a very off game, but he wasted a lot of energy getting nothing from a team with Dike being the top of the spear. Again, no more.
FYSA just as MLB has a city series Major League Rugby (MLR) also has a city series of jerseys. OGDC’s are Cherry Blossom themed again and they will wear them against Rugby New York on April 16th at 3pm at Segra. They are different from last year’s Cherry Blossom jersey. OGDC is auctioning off the game worn jerseys. If you win the auction you’ll get it from the player after the game and be able to take a picture with them. You can see a pic of the jersey on the team’s Facebook page.
