International Affairs: DC United and Loudoun United Players Representing Their Countries in the March Window

The first international window for men’s national teams begins this week. Though their nations are not going to the World Cup, Tai Baribo, Matti Peltola, and Arquimides Ordonez received call ups to represent their countries. In addition to the senior call ups, four players from the Black and Red received call ups to represent US youth teams. Jackson Hopkins will join the US -21’s in South Korea for camp and a pair of games. Meanwhile, Oscar Avilez, Mikel Akinmboni, and Kamil Castillo will join the US U-16 camp. Let’s take a look at where we may see DCU and Loudoun players on the field during this international window.

DC United

Tai Baribo (Israel)

DC United’s leading scorer through the first five games of 2026 will join the Israeli Men’s National Team for this international window. Over the last four years, Baribo has played over 900 minutes in 23 appearances for The Blues. Baribo started 11 of those 23 appearances He’s scored four goals and has one assist at the senior national level. Baribo last featured for Isreal during their UEFA qualifying fixtures in October of last year. He came off the bench and played 19 minutes in Israel’s 5-0 loss to Norway and then starting and playing 72 minutes in the loss to Italy.

Jackson Hopkins (USA U-21)

Hopkins received an international window call up from the US U-21 team. Hopkins has featured 13 times for the US U-20, U-21, and U-23 teams and scored two goals during those appearances.  He last appeared for the US U-21 in last year’s November international window. Hopkins started and scored the US’s lone goal in their 1-1 draw with Denmark and then came off the bench for the last 16 minutes of the US’s defeat to Serbia.

Matti Peltola (Finland)

Peltola rejoins Finland for a pair of friendlies against New Zealand and Cabo Verde, both 2026 World Cup participants. Peltola last featured for Huuhkajat last November when he came off the bench and played 28 minutes in a 4-0 friendly win over Andorra. In total, Peltola has made 23 appearances (15 starts) and played almost 1,400 minutes for Finland.

Loudoun United

Arquimides Ordonez (Guatemala)

Ordonez returns to the Guatemala National Team after a 2025 campaign that featured nine appearances, 308 minutes played, and a goal. Ordonez, last appeared for Guatemala in the November international window. He came off of the bench in the 56th minute and equalized the match with Panama at 2 a short time later. Unfortunately for Los Chapines, they conceded a third goal and their World Cup dreams were cast asunder.
