Washington Spirit’s first international tournament continues at home tonight! With the lead in the Group B of the Concacaf W Champions Cup on the line, they’ll face Vancouver Rise FC Academy.

The opponents

Vancouver Rise FC Academy, formerly known as the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy, are a semi-professional team playing in League 1 British Columbia. They qualified by winning the 2024 League1 Canada Inter-Provincial Championship. More recently, they finished second in their league in 2025 with a record of 12-1-3, behind Altitude FC Women.

In last year’s W Champions Cup, Vancouver defeated Alianza to advance to the group stage but only won one match in their group, finishing fourth of five.

This starting lineup would maximize rotation and give time to players who didn’t get much on Sunday. It assumes Kysha Sylla will be healthy again, which would be the best case for Washington, because their other center backs could really use the time off. In addition to the players listed, I’d expect Narumi Miura to see significant minutes, either as a starter or in the second half. If she’s healthy, Rosemonde Kouassi could also see some playing time to help her get warmed up for next weekend’s league match.
