MLS Fantasy Focus: Jack Links

Back from the break, scores felt down this week. Iskra 2000 FC led with 90 points, and
Nouhou Big Summer Blowout‘s overall lead is up to 86 points.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers
Kristijan Kahlina (CLT, $7.8) kept a clean sheet, leading the goalkeepers with 9 points. A quartet of players tied for second with 8 points, as CJ Dos Santos (SD, $7.9), Andrew Thomas (SEA, $5.2), and Michael Collodi (DAL, $5.9) each had a clean sheet, and Rafael Cabral (RSL, $8.9) saved a penalty. For DCU, Kim Joon Hong ($5.1) scored 1 point.

Defenders
Seattle’s Alex Roldan ($8.4) paired a clean sheet with an assist on the way to 14 points, leading the defenders ahead of Lalas Abubakar (DAL, $4.1), who scored 13 points on a goal and a clean sheet. Peyton Miller (NE, $7.3) was third with a clean sheet, an assist, and 11 points. For United it was Lucas Bartlett ($4.9), Aaron Herrera ($5.1), and Kye Rowles ($5.4) with 2 points each, and David Schnegg ($4.2) with 1.

Midfielders
Houston’s Jack McGlynn ($12.8) scored a brace plus 5 attacking bonus points on the way to 19 points, leading the midfielders and splitting the lead among all players. In second was the 14-point trio of Martin Ojeda (ORL, $15.9), Carles Gil (NE, $15.3), and Anders Dreyer (SD, $15.6), each of whom paired a goal with an assist. The scoring D.C. players were Randall Leal ($4.4) and Jackson Hopkins ($4.0) with 3 points; each of Gabriel Pirani ($8.9), Hosei Kijima ($4.0), Jared Stroud ($4.0), and Boris Enow ($4.0) with 2; and Brandon Servania ($4.2) with 1.

Forwards
Leading the forwards and sharing the overall lead with McGlynn was Luis Muriel (ORL, $9.5), whose 19 points came on the strength of two goals and an assist. Meanwhile, Seattle’s Danny Musovski ($8.7) scored twice on the way to 14 points, and Darren Yapi (COL, $6.8) scored two goals and 13 points. For DCU it was Christian Benteke ($10.4) with 2 points, and both Jacob Murrell ($4.0) and Dominique Badji ($4.0) with 1.

Looking Ahead
Everyone plays once this coming round. I like Pedro Gallese (ORL, $7.3) in goal vs. Kansas City and Tristan Blackmon (VAN, $10.2) in defense vs. Houston. Philip Zinckernagel (CHI, $14.4) is your midfield man vs. St. Louis, and forward Petar Musa (DAL, $11.7) has scored in four straight games, amassing six goals and an assist over that stretch, so play him at Austin.
