Will be interesting for the group to see how this plays out
I will update. Thanks!
Yeah, absolutely not your fault, I was puzzled myself seeing the difference
Hadji wright has an Achilles injury its new and he didn’t dress. Apparently we’ll get an update after the game.
I’ve never heard of a mild Achilles injury, but we’ll see
The Saudis are proving difficult to break down so far.
Their shape and pressing have been sophisticated, not doing a ton with the ball so far, the Saudis
And the defense is being cute again in the defensive third…
And the Saudis force a save on a quick move.
Hate to say it, but as narrow of a near post shot that was, I think Turner would have struggled with it more than Freese
Richards almost fucks us up very badly with a weak gk pass
My general impression of the Saudis is they’re very well drilled, but no particular individual standouts to make a difference. We’ll see if the USMNT can be collective enough and special enough in moments to take it.
They did say they are missing 4 starters to the Club World Cup.
That long switch is on for the Saudis and they are using it.
The Saudis are focusing on attacking down the right side of the defense.
Richards does a fantastic block to bail out Freeman’s bizarre push up that led to an open breakaway
Agyemang has glaring strengths, but is definitely not talented at link up play. It’s not like he’s not trying, just not his forte. The other attacking players need to find a way to work around that
This ref is letting a lot go.
It’s pretty extreme
Tyler Adams should be a big boost if/when he comes in. Cardoso might actually lose us the game if he does.
How’d the ref not just issue at least 1 yellow for non-captain players approaching and trying to talk to the ref?
And the ref should’ve issued at least 1 yellow there for not retreating on the restart.
I’m getting the impression that, if both teams were drowning in separate pools, and only he could save them, he’d make a sandwich
With this amount of shithousery, Saudi Arabia clearly auditioning to stay in CONCACAF
Hey, we score off a set piece assist!
Richards’ bigness offset by what appears to be a too difficult to see defender behind him. Pretty tight margins, but the goal stands
Why did Luna just pick up a yellow?
Guess it was the unintentional mini stamp that made the player do his best writhing carpet act?
Ah so standard CONCACAF?
The writhing? Sure. Luna’s “dirty play” misstep is not worthy of the title
Is anyone else besides Richards playing defense tonight?
Uh, Tyler Adams now?
Tillman really screws over a great breakaway with an overcooked feed across the line. Granted, it was a tough ball to handle going forward, but that’s gotta be better than an out of bounds hammer
If Agyemang is a little better with that touch past the goalie, that’s a straight red for the gk
This ref not giving out yellows for SA shithousery of any kind
Are there unlimited sub windows in this tournament? Saudi Arabia has had a lot of them, it seems
Downs needs a stretcher. Hate to see it
NM, he limps off at least on his own power, and is in fact back out there
Gonna be a million minutes of stoppage
7 feels light, frankly, but I’ll take it
only 7…feels like this should be longer…
Wow this is definitely a CONCACAF match now…
💯
Cardoso has a few minutes with stoppage to lose us this lead
We’re gonna need photographic evidence that this ref was on the field this match
Pretty crazy. One decent set piece delivery, Richards’ bigness, and a late catch in traffic by Freese, and that’s pretty much it.
Well, Richards also had a great block, but that was a lot of huffing and puffing from both sides.
Whatever, hard team to scout and prepare for, I’m sure, and we’ve advanced.
