DC Power FC @ Lexington SC: Preview, time, and how to watch

DC Power wraps up their inaugural 2024-25 season tonight as they take on Lexington SC on the road. DC Power is coming off a 2-0 loss to Tampa Bay Sun last weekend on the road.

Interim head coach Phil Nana is hoping that the team can close the season out with a win. “The biggest thing for us is ending on a high note,” Nana said in comments released by the team. “Though we’re not playing for the playoffs, we’re just playing for each other and for pride. We still play with a lot of pressure. For this final game, I don’t want us to play with that pressure. I want us to just play, find that flow state and have fun.”

Lexington is also playing for pride, as they will finish the season at the bottom of the USL Super League standings, but they want to finish on a positive as well. DC Power is hoping that they can continue to build on some of the confidence they’ve gained in the past couple of weeks. “I’m sure we’ll see a vibrant, brave and ambitious Lexington team which a very hard team to stop when they believe they can win,” Nana said. “For us, it will be a matter of sticking to our principles and what we work on tactically this week, being able to execute.”

Complicating that will be the absence of five DC Power players, who are unavailable due to international duty. Goalkeeper Morgan Aquino (Australia), defenders Claire Constant (Haiti) and Amber DiOrio (Puerto Rico), and midfielders Jennifer Cudjoe (Ghana) and Charlie Estcourt (Wales) will be overseas playing with their respective national teams. This means that other players will have an opportunity to step up and produce on the field.
