DC Power FC vs. Spokane Zephyr: Preview, time, and how to watch

DC Power FC is back at Audi Field tonight to take on Spokane Zephyr in the penultimate home match of the season. DC Power is currently coming off back-to-back wins against Brooklyn FC and Dallas Trinity, the latter of which was an epic comeback from a 2-0 deficit.

DC Power may be eliminated from the playoffs, but they still feel the urge to play for pride as well as also play spoiler in the process. They play a Spokane Zephyr team that’s currently in the 4th and final playoff spot in the USL Super League table. With just four total matches remaining, DC Power knows they can dictate how the playoff spots are settled. “We know that [Spokane] are trying to make the playoffs, and we want to stop anyone from getting there,” goalkeeper Morgan Aquino said in Monday’s press availability. She went on to say that the team is gelling together and playing loose. “We have no pressure on us,” Aquino said. “We just play to play…we have our club to play for.”

They will have their work cut out for them against Spokane, who won in their last meeting on a last minute free kick goal. However, interim coach Phil Nana said that he hopes the team brings the confidence that has been growing the past couple of weeks. “The biggest thing [we need to do] is that we are confident, we are optimistic, [and] we take those chances as they come and we don’t wait for that perfect shot, that perfect cross,” Nana said. DC Power hopes that confidence can help them make it three wins in a row with another result tonight.
