DC Power FC vs. Carolina Ascent: Preview, time, and how to watch

DC Power FC are back in action tonight when they take on Carolina Ascent at Audi Field. DC Power is still in search of their first win of the spring schedule and are going up against a Carolina team that’s second in the USL Super League table.

DC Power is hoping that they can finally convert on some of the chances they create on the offensive end while limiting Carolina’s opportunities through their defense. Recently, set pieces and turnovers have cost DC Power crucial points as they try to get out of the cellar and gain on some of the teams above the playoff line.

As the calendar continues to move forward, points are even more vital. Currently, DC Power has 15 points on a 3W-10L-6D record. They sit 17 points back of Fort Lauderdale United, who is in fourth place. The team needs wins now more than ever with just nine matches remaining in the regular season. They hope to start a run tonight against Carolina.

DC Power FC will continue to be without Claire Constant, Katrina Guillou, Carleigh Frilles, Jennifer Cudjoe and Charlie Estcourt due to international duty. In their absence, academy players will be called upon to step up once again to try and get the win that the team needs. “It’s just a matter of our cohesion, our timing and taking care of other aspects of our game,” interim coach Phil Nana said in team comments released yesterday.

Carolina comes in with one of the strongest attacks in the league. They’re led by Mia Corbin, who is tied for the Golden Boot lead with 9 goals so far this season. Jillienne Aguilera is tied for first in the league with 5 assists, with teammate Audrey Harding right behind her with 4 assists. DC Power’s defense has been solid at times this spring, but they’re hoping to have a 90 minute performance with no mistakes to keep any hopes of making the playoffs on their fingertips.

Thanks, Donald. Always appreciate your efforts even if the feminine version of DC United is worse.
