Washington Spirit sign Brazilian attacker Tamara Bolt
Adding another attacker to their roster, Washington Spirit signed Tamara Bolt (also known as Tamara Paranaguá) for the 2025 season, with options for 2026 and 2027, the team announced today.
The 21-year-old recently played her third season for SC Internacional in Brazil’s Série A1, where she scored six goals in 36 matches. As part of her transfer, Washington paid an undisclosed fee to Internacional, according to their press release.
“Tamara has shown great potential so far in her young career and we’re excited to welcome her to the club,” Mark Krikorian, President of Soccer Operations/General Manager said in the Spirit’s statement. “We look forward to helping further develop her skills as a professional.”
Tamara primarily plays on the wing, and highlights show she has the speed and passing ability, especially in the final third, to fit well into the Spirit’s system. In addition to providing them more options on attack, she may be able to sub into a right back role — helpful for a team that is currently short on defenders.
Check out some of Tamara’s highlights below, (but note that these are all prior to the 2024 season, when she scored the majority of her goals):
Tamara will fill Washington’s seventh international slot — their final one unless the league expands the number again this year. She also brings the total number of signed players to 26, although five are currently on the Season-Ending Injury list.

A lot of her sizzle reel shows Tamara attacking from right back. Promising.
Are any of the players on SEI expected to be on the roster when the season starts?
Certainly Bethune, Sarr, Sullivan — maybe keeper Bosselmann.
Do you mean the game day roster? I’ve heard Bethune’s recovery is going well and wouldn’t be surprised to see her back. Bosselmann (now Jessee after her wedding) feels to me like she could also be ready; her wrist injury and surgery were pretty early last season. I honestly have no idea about Sarr or Gaine-Ramos (who I neglected to cite in the tracker; will fix), but I expect Sullivan to miss most of this season, given the timing of her ACL injury.
