DC Power FC part ways with head coach Fred Brillant

DC Power FC will enter their last match before the midseason break with a new coach. On Wednesday, the team announced via their Twitter account that they had mutually parted ways with head coach Fred Brillant.

Assistant coach Phil Nana will lead the team in their final match of the fall portion of the season against Lexington SC on December 14th. Then the search for a new coach will begin.

DC Power was 3W-6L-4D under Brillant, who was appointed as the team’s first ever head coach on May 20th. He had led the team to a last minute win over Fort Lauderdale FC last weekend. However, the team struggled to score goals, as they are currently last in the USL Super League with 7 goals scored. Still, the team is currently just three points under the playoff line in the Super League’s inaugural season. Reached for additional comment, the team referred to the tweeted statement.

DC Power now will seek a new direction and will wait until the midseason break, which runs until late February, to figure that out. They hope the change in coaches will turn around their season and help them contend for the USL Super League title.
