2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup to feature 4 Washington Spirit players; when and how to watch

The Concacaf W Gold Cup is a new international tournament that’s also curiously misnamed. While plenty of Concacaf teams will be involved (Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, United States), they’ll be joined by four members of CONMEBOL, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Paraguay, to add a little spice to the competition. Preliminary rounds of the competition take place Saturday, February 17, before the group stages get underway Tuesday, February 20.

Washington Spirit supporters have plenty of reason to get excited and watch. While Gotham has taken over the mantle of having the most USWNT players (7!), the Spirit will still be well represented – just not all on the U.S. national team.

Trinity Rodman & Casey Krueger will be with the USWNT as they prepare to kickoff their tournament Tuesday, February 20 in Carson, CA versus either Guyana or Dominican Republic. Gabrielle Carle was called up by Canada, who will start their group stage run against El Salvador or Guatemala on Thursday, February 22 in Houston, TX. Riley Tanner will be with Panama when they begin their tournament Wednesday, February 21 against Colombia at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, CA.

All matches will air on CBS Sports’ Golazo Network, available on Paramount+, CBS Sports app, and Pluto TV. The group stage schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, February 20 – Dignity Health Sports Park (Carson, CA)
Mexico vs. Argentina, 7:30pm
