Your Washington Spirit’s 2024 Regular Season Schedule!

Last year the NWSL schedule didn’t drop until February 8th. In an encouraging sign of improvement we now have the schedule with a full six days left in January. Nevermind that the WNBA – which tips off two months after the NWSL’s regular season begins – released their schedule December 18th, baby steps are still steps.

Anyway, enough of the yammering. You’re here to find out when and where and against whomst and what channel/streaming service your Spirits will be playing, and we got you. The new look Spirit’s season gets underway on the opposite coast on Sunday, March 17 against the new look Seattle Reign. Washington’s home opener is the following Saturday, March 23, when they get to be the first to welcome Bay FC to the east coast.

Here’s your Spirits’ schedule in full:

If you’re looking for when new coach Jonatan Giráldez might first take the helm on the sideline, it could be away at NJ/NY Gotham FC on June 23. That match will be on ESPN, and whether Gotham are or are not quite yet the juggernaut their offseason foretells, either narrative will ensure plenty of eyes. If the Spirit get lucky and Giráldez has the league wrapped up by the time his team plays in the UWCL Final (May 25) as everyone expects, it could be possible for him to appear June 8 against the Royals, but let’s manage expectations by considering this wishful thinking.

In terms of a potential playoff push, four of the Spirit’s final six games are on the road. In fact, there’s a back-to-back-to-back stretch where they head to Kansas City, then Los Angeles, then Orlando. And for the Spirit’s final regular season match they’ll face off against southern rivals North Carolina. At the moment the league’s multiple broadcast partners appear to have caused the league to scrap simultaneous “Decision Day” kickoffs in order to satisfy everyone. Who knows if that may change, but after the Spirit’s 7:30pm kickoff against the Courage, three more games will have to be played, one that night, and two the following day.

The Spirit don’t have a month with more than two home games, so matchdays at Audi Field are fairly spread out. Though this means there’s plenty of time to plan your day at, in and around Audi, notify and bring several friends, and prepare to get rowdy.
